TWO-DAY LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR ASSEMBLY MEMBERS

The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs in collaboration with Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) and National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) organised a two-day next generation leadership training for Hon. Assembly Members of the Jomoro Municipal Assembly.

The training held on 25th-26TH August 2026 is designed to deepen understanding of the mandates assigned to Assembly Members within Ghana’s local governance system. It is specifically intended to build the competencies of Assembly Members to enable them to perform their representative, deliberative, legistrative, executive, and oversight responsibilities effectively, as well as create opportunities for building networks for future career progression in leadership and governance. The Next Generation Leadership training is a follow up activity to the 2024 nationwide orientation and training program of Assembly Members and aims at equipping the current cohort of Assembly Membwes with the requisite competences to identify local challenges confronting their Municipality, analyse, reflect and propose innovative strategies to address these challenges.
