PETROLEUM HUB DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ENGAGES WITH MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF THE JOMORO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, The Chief Executive Dr. Toni Aubynn, of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), met with the management and staff of the Jomoro Municipal Assembly to provide updates on the Petroleum Hub project. The meeting focused on timelines and land acquisition, following a reduction in the project’s land size from 20,000 acres to 12,300 acres (5,000 hectares).

Dr. Aubynn began his engagements with a courtesy call on the Western Regional House of Chiefs, where he assured traditional leaders that the downsizing would not affect the project’s viability. He further disclosed that officials from the Lands Commission and PHDC would commence a series of exercises in the Jomoro enclave next week.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Benedict Boadi, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the smooth implementation of the project. He stressed that the Assembly would ensure all local processes are fully harnessed and pledged to prevent encroachment on the designated lands. He added that the Assembly would collaborate with traditional authorities, security agencies, and other stakeholders to safeguard the project area.
